Rota for Christmas Masses within the Parish

21 Dec 2020

Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, the Church capacity will be greatly reduced to comply with the social distancing guidelines to remain 2 metres apart. Some pews in the Church will be cordoned off to facilitate social distancing. When attending Mass, families from the same household may sit at one pew together without restrictions. Otherwise there are limited numbers allowed in each pew. You should maintain a safe distance from others at all times.

There will be two Masses on Christmas Eve and two on Christmas Day. The rota below has been drawn up to allow a safe number of parishioners to attend at each Mass.

CHRISTMAS EVE
VIGIL MASS 7PM – Far Ballymaguigan (excluding Lough Road & Ballymaguigan Road).
MASS DURING THE NIGHT 9PM - Derrygarve, Airfield Road, Aughrim Road, Deerpark Road, Creagh Hill, Aughrim Lane and Hillhead Road.

CHRISTMAS DAY
MORNING MASS 8AM – Near Ballymaguigan (including Lough Road & Ballymaguigan Road).
MASS DURING THE DAY 10AM – Creagh Road, Blackpark Road (with housing developments) & Bannside.

Parishioners may also consider making Saturday, 26th morning 10am, Saturday Vigil 7pm or Sunday 27th morning 10am their Christmas Mass.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS AN EXCEPTIONAL YEAR AND PEOPLE ARE ASKED TO SUSPEND THEIR TRADITIONAL MASS ATTENDANCE TIME THIS CHRISTMAS.

Note that the obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and Holydays remains suspended.

It is also important that people who are vulnerable or unwell, especially those with any symptoms that might suggest Covid-19 infection, should stay at home and, if possible, participate via webcam, television or radio.
