New prayer and information resources launched in response to Coronavirus pandemic

Having been advised by bishops, the Catholic Communications Office has today published new prayer and information resources on the home page of their website to offer support to the faithful during the coronavirus pandemic.

The resources include:
  • Detailed information on the broadcast and online streaming of Mass including the 11.00am Mass for Saint Patrick’s Day on RTÉ One Television & RTÉ Radio 1 Extra/Longwave 252, with celebrant Fr Peter Rodgers, a member of the Capuchin community in Dublin's Church Street, live in the chapel studio of Kairos Communications, Maynooth, Co Kildare.
  • Around the country, some parish churches and cathedrals have installed webcams for the broadcast of Mass and these can be accessed on the following websites:
  • Broadcast Mass is also available from the Vatican, EWTN and Radio Maria.
  • Prayer Resources in English and Irish including special prayers to say at home on the Feast of Saint Patrick. The Bishops of Ireland are also inviting the faithful to take part in a Novena of Prayer in this time of Coronavirus crisis. The Novena will culminate with the Consecration of Ireland to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on 25 March, the Feast Day of the Annunciation.
  • Pastoral statements from bishops and diocesan initiatives such as ringing church bells in solidarity and hope.

The resources, which are live on www.catholicbishops.ie, will be updated over the coming days to reflect the most up to date information available.

The faithful are also reminded to link in with the social media accounts of the Bishops’ Conference for news, updates and messages of hope:
