A Call to Pray on Palm Sunday at 3.00pm

3 Apr 2020

As you know the Church leaders have said, "as Christians, we believe that prayer sustains our life as followers of Christ.  In the midst of this global pandemic, we turn to Jesus in our time of need.  As Church leaders, we join together in calling all our people to prayer”  and, along with other denominations and Christian organisations, are joining in prayer on Palm Sunday from 3.00 – 4.00pm.

At this time from his home webcam at:

Archbishop Eamon will lead a gentle reading and powerful meditation on the Passion narrative in Matthew`s gospel.  All are welcome to join on this link and promote in advance on social media.

In addition, I have been contacted by Father Martin Magill of Down & Connor who has offered to share the attached short prayer resource to encourage people from right across the denominations to take part in this time of need.  It contains prayer guidance and brief Scriptural references as well as prayers for mercy, of confession, of intercession, for medical staff and carers and essential services, for our neighbours, Our Lord`s Prayer, and for our families and children.  Please see images below for use on social media.
